Hello Fellow Nurses!  Welcome!  I would love to share with you a few things that I have learned that might be helpful to you.  Chronic disease has become a huge roadblock to health in the United States with heart disease being ranked as the number one killer.  Most chronic diseases can be prevented by modifying behavior.  Eating nutritiously, exercising, and smoking cessation are behaviors that can promote health and help to prevent heart disease and other chronic diseases.

As nurses, we have a responsibility to educate and motivate our patients.  How can we do a better job of educating and motivating?  How can we, as nurses, help to inspire change in our patients who are at risk of heart disease or other chronic diseases?  Are there principles we can use in our interactions with patients that will motivate them to make changes and modify their risk factors?
